Join us on Thursday, January 30th at 5:00 pm for a webinar with Kazumi Yamashita-Iverson and Emiko Nomoto. This dynamic one-hour presentation will focus on achieving 90% or more target language use in effective world language instruction. Discover how intentional planning, creative strategies, and a supportive classroom culture can help sustain target language use.

Kazumi has been teaching Japanese at Maloney Interdistrict Magnet School in Waterbury for 23 years, working with students from Pre-K through 5th grade. She has served on the NCJLT and AATJ boards and currently represents AATJ at CT COLT. Emiko has been teaching Japanese at Maloney Interdistrict Magnet School since 2019. She is dedicated to creating an engaging classroom environment where students feel inspired to explore new cultures and languages.

This webinar, co-hosted by the AATJ, the fifth in a ten-part series for the 2024-2025 school year in collaboration with our partner organizations. These webinars will feature presenters sharing valuable insights, including information about their organizations, member benefits, pedagogical strategies, and topics closely related to their fields.
