2025 CT COLT Poetry Recitation Contest

Registration

  • The cost for member teachers registering 1-2 students is $5!
  • The cost for member teachers registering 3-10 students is $25!
  • The cost for non-member teachers registering 1-2 students is $40 ($10 + $30 membership). Your membership credentials will be emailed to you in the coming days.
  • The cost for non-member teachers registering 3-10 students is $55 ($15 contest fee + $30 membership). Your membership credentials will be emailed to you in the coming days.
  • The total cost will be determined by the following pricing, as tabulated on the registration form:

    Non-member teacher registering 1-2 students: $40 each
    Non-member teacher registering 3-10 students: $55 each
    Member teacher registering 1-2 students: $5 each
    Member teacher registering 3-10 students: $25 each

The Poetry Recitation Contest is an annual event open to CT students in grades 7 through 12 whose teachers are members of CT COLT and teach in a CT school. Poetry slates are available in the following languages: Albanian, Ancient Greek, Arabic, ASL, Chinese (Mandarin only), ESOL/ML, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Kannada, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Tamil.

Students may enter the Poetry Recitation Contest in the following categories in most languages: Middle School, Level 1 (Beginning or FLEX program); Middle School Level 2 (Continuing language), High School Levels 1-6; Heritage Speaker, Middle School; Heritage Speaker High School. Prior to completing this registration step, please make sure that you have entered the student and poem information on this form. To access the information packet for the contest, please click here.
