2022 CT COLT Poetry Recitation Contest

  • Registration is free for members, and an additional $9 per student will be added. The school contact must be a CT COLT member as well as all teachers who are bringing students. Please note that all teachers who are bringing students must be members of CT COLT, and there is the opportunity to add these additional memberships to the registration form. Please note registration closes on March 4, 2022.

The Poetry Contest is an annual event open to students in grades 7 through 12 whose teachers are members of CT COLT. Poetry slates are available in the following languages: Ancient Greek, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin only), ESOL/ELL, French, German, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. NEW FOR 2022, we are adding a new slate for Albanian. Students may enter the Poetry Contest in the following categories in most languages: Middle School, Level 1 (Beginning or FLEX program); Middle School Level 2 (Continuing language), High School Levels 1-6; Heritage Speaker, Middle School; Heritage Speaker High School. (SPECIAL NOTE: For this year's contest/2022, CT COLT is only accepting registrations for languages with published slates.) To access the information packet for the contest, please click here.
