2021 Rhyme Celebration

  • The event is free for CT COLT members. Please have your credentials available to log into your membership profile. If you are not yet a member, you can become one as part of this membership process. The cost for non-members will $30, which is the membership fee. If you are not yet a member, you can join as you register for this event.

 2021 CT COLT Virtual Rhyme Celebration (Pre-K to 6) 

2021 Theme:  “Global Friendship” 

Rhymes, Songs and Tongue Twisters 

Date: Wednesday, May 12, 2021 5:00 - 6:30p.m.(YouTube premiere)

Deadline to register, to submit a video, or videos, and the slide(s) with the rhyme text: Friday, April 9, 2021

Participating schools:  Each participating teacher/school chooses a rhyme from the target culture for their students to perform on video.  Each district can have as many rhymes/slides/videos as they want as long as the total video time does not exceed 5 min.  Each video should have only one rhyme. Props and costumes are encouraged. This rhyme can be from the curriculum or something that is used in class.

Cost:  Free for CT COLT members. No additional fees for this virtual event.  If you are not yet a member, you can join here or as part of the event registration process.

Student Registration Forms:  Please be sure to upload a Student Registration Form for each participant, along with your completed five-minute video(s).

Slide with rhyme text:  Each district is also asked to submit a slide with the rhyme text, in addition to the video(s), with one slide for each rhyme used.  Please see a sample here.  Please make sure, if you share your slides as a link, that the sharing settings allow anyone with the link to view it.

Materials in the videos:  Please make sure that you have the right to use all materials in the videos.  For example, do not use any copywritten songs or photographs without a license from the rights holder.
