PLEASE NOTE: The original email for the following event, which was sent out December 10th, listed this year's Poster Contest theme in error.  This year, our theme is "Continuing the Journey to Proficiency."  CT-COLT regrets the error.  Correct, updated information is listed below.

The CT COLT Poster Contest is an annual event where K-12 students submit their own artistic interpretations of a language- or proficiency-based theme. This is open to all Connecticut students whose teachers are members of CT COLT.

Entries are judged in the following categories:

  • K-2 (Lower Elementary)
  • 3-5 (Upper Elementary)
  • 6-8 (Middle School)
  • 9-12 (High School)

In addition to the four category winners, one poster is selected for the Grand Prize. Winning posters are featured in our yearly organizational calendar, which is typically distributed at our Fall Conference.

Certificates are awarded to each student who submits a poster, and winners receive an additional monetary prize.

Our theme this year is: "Proficiency: Continuing the Journey."  Our Poster Contest chairperson is Judith Ojeda.  If you have any questions about this event, you may contact her at ojedaj@ctcolt.org.

Registration materials may be accessed by clicking here.  You will be required to fill out the paper entry forms, as they contain paperwork for both students and parents to sign.  These forms may either be uploaded here, or they may be mailed with the posters.  Payment may be done online, or mailed with the posters.
